Elm Bowl
Elm Bowl
Otherwise known as "man bowl" by my wife. Very heavy, sturdy bowl with a nice grain throughout. Soon to be added to Etsy site, keep a look out for it.
Two Persmimmon Votive - Sold
Part of the "River Rock" series of votives. I like the way these turn out and will continue to make these.

Amber Burl Votive
Just finished a beautiful candle holder made from an amber colored burl. I like the way the burl design emerged after oiling.

Internet Introduction
I began carving as a way to do something creative while caring for my young children. As I worked with the wood, I found that that the traditional dough bowls or trencher bowls were interesting and beautiful items. Instead of wasting the smaller pieces of interesting wood, I have created additional household items, such as votive holders. Below are some of my current items. I have pieces at Bluestem, a local craft store, but just entered the world of Internet sales through www.etsy.com/shop/twinwoodcarving
Tiger Stripe Dough Bowl - Sold
Cute maple bowl with a tiger stripe design from the wood's natural grain. Ideal for a kitchen or decorative use. Finished with organic tung oil and beeswax. Safe for food use. In order to maintain the original finish, recommended for dry food only such as whole fruit, breads, or nuts.
.
Persimmon Bowl Trencher Style
Interesting bowl with texturing throughout due to destruction of the wood by insects while growing. The creatures are gone but the beautiful pattern remains. Wood from local miller.
At Bluestem, Columbia MO
Due to nature of the wood, not suitable for food usage.
Sycamore Dough Bowl - Sold
Nice large bowl with rich finish. Made from wood from local miller. Ideal for kitchen or decorative use. Finished with organic tung oil and beeswax. Safe for food use. In order to maintain original finish, recommend use with dry food only such as whole fruit, bread, or nuts.
Persimmon Votive - Sold
Made from the same wood as the persimmon bowl. River Rock votive, carved to mimic the look of a worn river rock. I think this will be a series I do if I am able to find other suitable pieces of wood.
